Accelerated Database Recovery (ADR) is a new feature introduced in SQL Server 2019. It significantly improves database availability and recovery time by accelerating the process of recovering a database to a consistent state after a failure. Unlike traditional recovery methods, ADR uses a more efficient algorithm to reduce the time taken for recovery operations. Meanwhile, Oracle DB also has its own ADR, which is mainly used for managing alert logs, trace files, and other diagnostic data to help DBAs quickly identify and resolve issues.
